INTRODUCTION Strategies to stem the rate of HIV/AIDS infection will for a long time remain a major focus of discourse, especially in population-related and health conferences. This is true particularly for sub-Saharan African countries ravaged by the effects of HIV/AIDS. African countries will, in particular, receive much attention on HIV/AIDS, first, because the rate of HIV/AIDS prevalence in the sub-Saharan Africa region remains high compared to other regions, and second, because the devastating effects of the epidemic have implications for budgetary allocations, mortality rates, and low productivity among the working population (1-6).
